The Irish Charity Web Discussion Group was started in 2011 and is open to anyone who works directly for an Irish charity in the area of the web. We discuss design, development, ecampaigning, social media, fundraising, content and communications – you don’t need to be techy to take part.
The group has over 300 members, from over 100 different charities; and has proven to be a really useful resource for sharing ideas and seeking advice. We have frequent online discussions through a Google Group, and also meet up in Dublin city centre from time to time.

If you work with the web for an Irish charity (either full time or on a volunteer basis) you can apply to join the group at this link: https://bit.ly/IrishCharityWeb
Membership Criteria
The group is open to people who work or volunteer for Irish charities and campaigns, and freelancers, agencies and consultants working in the field of digital for non-profits. We do not allow vendors (eg, software companies, fundraising platforms, etc) into the group – this is to keep the discussions confidential, and so that members can speak freely about suppliers.
This group is just for charities based in Ireland. If you’re in another country, we have recommendations for international online communities.
If you offer a service that you think may be of use to the group, and would like to meet the group as a guest speaker, please contact Jean O’Brien on hello@digitalcharitylab.org.
